About Human First
We didn't set out to
build a business. We set out
to do support properly.
Human First is an independent NDIS disability support provider operating across Ballarat and regional Victoria. We're not the biggest provider in the room — and that's deliberate. We built this to be personal, consistent, and genuinely good at what we do.
It started with one person, and one question that wouldn't go away.
Alex Bryan was working as a personal trainer in Ballarat when he was asked to support someone living with a disability. What started as fitness sessions became something more — showing up consistently, understanding the whole person, building real trust over time.
What he noticed was a gap in how support was actually being delivered — the kind of gap that's hard to see from the outside. Support that felt personal. Flexible. Human. The kind where the same worker shows up each week, actually knows your name, and genuinely cares what happens next.
"I'm genuinely curious about people and I honestly just want to help. Our participants deserve to be safe, supported, and given a real chance at the life they actually want. That's what this is."
That became Human First — a small, independent NDIS provider built from the ground up, from years of hands-on experience and a very clear sense of what good support actually looks like. Every member of our team is either qualified or currently studying in a relevant discipline. We're co-ed, with both male and female support workers, so every participant can choose support that genuinely fits them.
Built in Ballarat.
Trusted across
regional Victoria.
Human First now operates across Ballarat, Geelong, and surrounding regions — not because we went looking for growth, but because word travels when support is done well. We've been invited into new areas by support coordinators and families who wanted consistency they could count on.
Our team is experienced, trained, and stable. Participants work with the same people over time — not a rotating roster of faces. The director is still directly involved in day-to-day operations, still contactable, still accountable. That's not going to change as we grow.
Human First is connected to Circle Square — an all-abilities fitness and movement hub based in Ballarat. For participants who want access to community, movement, and group programs outside of traditional support settings, Circle Square offers something genuinely different.
